Aurora Depression Glass

Aurora Depression Glass

Pattern:
Aurora Depression Glass

Manufacturer:
Hazel Atlas Glass Company

Dates Manufactured:
Late 1930s

Colors:
Cobalt Blue, Pink, Green and Crystal (clear)

This is a very small pattern, only seven different pieces were made.  Still it is loved by collectors for the beautiful cobalt blue color.  Other colors are much harder to find.

The seven pieces in this pattern are:

  • Bowl (4 1/2" deep)
  • Cereal Bowl (5 3/8")
  • Creamer (4 1/2")
  • Cup
  • Saucer
  • Plate (6 1/2")
  • 10 ounce Tumbler (4 3/4")

It appears that only the cobalt blue was made in all seven pieces, the small bowl, creamer weren't made in pink.  The green and clear items are very scarce.

The creamer was given as a premium for buying cereal in the 1930s - that is why there wasn't a matching sugar bowl.

The cobalt blue pieces are very easy to find and are inexpensive, if you are looking to add some beautiful blue items to your collection!
