Cascade Cambridge
Pattern: Cascade Cambridge Manufacturer: Cambridge Glass Company Dates Manufactured: Early 1950s Colors: All items were made in Clear. A few pieces were also made in Emerald Green, Mandarin Gold and Milk White. Cascade is far easier to find in clear than any of the other colors. It is fairly popular with collectors. Most items are very reasonably priced and pieces are relatively easy to find - so it is possible to acquire an entire set. This was one of the last glass patterns made by Cambridge, as they closed down in 1954.
There are two different versions of stems on the Water Goblets. They are identical to each other, but one version appears to be upside down. (I wonder if they did this on purpose or if was it a "manufacturing error"?). The 8" AshTray also serves as the Punch Bowl Stand and as part of the Buffet Set - it would sit on top of the 21" plate. The same 21" plate also served as the punch bowl underplate.
The prices on many of the clear pieces are very low. The most valuable items are the Punch Bowl, the 21" Plate, the Ice Tub and the 9 1/2" Vases. The Green and Yellow pieces were made in a 5" Candlestick, a Covered Candy Box, a Mayonnaise with an underplate, a Creamer & Sugar & a 9 1/2" Vase. The only item that was made in Milk Glass - that I know of - is also the 9 1/2" Vase. All of the colored items are much harder to find and therefore more expensive.
