The fruits on Della Robbia are
Apples, pears and grapes. Although the intensity of the colors varies
a great deal, the apples are always red, the pears are yellow and the grapes
are purple. The items that have darker, more intense colors are
considered to be more valuable to collectors.
Della Robbia was made in the
Westmoreland glass pattern known as #1058. The same Della Robbia
moulds were also used to make a few items in blue and purple carnival glass,
but they aren't considered to be Della Robbia pieces.
It was made for many years and it
is a large pattern, with 14 different size bowls, 8 different size plates, 6
different size stems and 5 tumblers.
The most valuable items are the
punch bowl set, 32 ounce pitcher and the larger comports, plates and bowls.
