Della Robbia Depression Glass

Della Robbia Depression Glass
Pattern:
Della Robbia Depression Glass

Manufacturer:
Westmoreland Glass Co

Dates Manufactured:
Late 1920s - 1940s

Colors:
Clear with applied colors on raised fruit design, Clear, White (milk glass)

The fruits on Della Robbia are Apples, pears and grapes.  Although the intensity of the colors varies a great deal, the apples are always red, the pears are yellow and the grapes are purple.  The items that have darker, more intense colors are considered to be more valuable to collectors.

Della Robbia was made in the Westmoreland glass pattern known as #1058.  The same Della Robbia moulds were also used to make a few items in blue and purple carnival glass, but they aren't considered to be Della Robbia pieces.

It was made for many years and it is a large pattern, with 14 different size bowls, 8 different size plates, 6 different size stems and 5 tumblers.

The most valuable items are the punch bowl set, 32 ounce pitcher and the larger comports, plates and bowls.
