Duncan and Miller Glass CompanyThe Duncan and Miller Glass Company began in as George Duncan & Sons in 1865. The company was originally in Pittsburgh. It was destroyed by a fire in 1893 and was reopened in Washington, PA. In 1874 J. Ernest Miller was hired as a designer. His designs were very successful and eventually the company became Duncan & Miller. Although the designs from 1893 until the plant closed in 1955 are referred to as Duncan & Miller, the company was incorporated under that name in 1900.

The company began to design colored glass in the 1920s. Their most popular patterns were produced from the 1920s through the 1940s. The plant was closed in 1955. Most of the Duncan-Miller molds were sold to Tiffin. Tiffin had a Duncan & Miller division until 1980. Many of the Duncan-Miller employees also went to work for Tiffin.

The most popular etched patterns include: First Love, Language of Flowers and Passion Flower. The company is also well known for Swan figures.
