Elaine is often confused with Chantilly, another Cambridge pattern. The easiest way to tell them apart is by the etched scroll design. The Elaine pattern has an angled scroll (easy to see on the candy jar pictured). Chantilly has a horizontal scroll.
Many Cambridge patterns used the same blanks so they are shaped the same, it is the patterns of the etchings that differentiates them.
Elaine is a huge pattern, there are over 40 different stems - from a 1 ounce Cordial to a 10 ounce Water and everything imaginable in between. Of course the pattern was manufactured for around 20 years, so it is easy to understand how there are so many different pieces.
For the most part the Elaine prices are reasonable. The pieces considered to be the most valuable are the Hurricane Lamp, the "Hat", the pitchers and several of the rarer stems.
