Madrid Depression Glass

Madrid Depression Glass

Madrid Depression Glass

Madrid Depression Glass
Pattern:
Madrid Depression Glass

Manufacturer:
Federal Glass Company

Dates Manufactured:
1932 - 1939

Colors:
Green, Pink, Amber, Crystal (Clear), Madonna Blue

This pattern was reissued for the bicentennial in 1976 by the Federal Glass Company under the name Recollection Glassware.  All the pieces from the "Recollection" are marked 1976.  Later Indiana Glass bought the Madrid moulds from Federal Glass and made Crystal pieces without the 1976 mark.  They also made it in pink, it was a lighter pink than the original depression era pink.  They have also been made in blue (a brighter blue than the depression era Madonna blue and in teal.  These issues/reissues have caused the value of the original Depression Era items to be greatly diminished, as it can be very difficult to know the difference.

Still it is a lovely, collectible pattern than many collectors continue to enjoy!
