Vintage Jewelry

Out of all of the vintage items that I love and collect, vintage jewelry has been the most frustrating!  Most vintage items are part of collections that are very well catalogued and defined and finite.  Not so with vintage jewelry.  I think the easiest way to begin is with the known designers.  On pieces that are signed, that makes it easy and generally signed pieces are more valuable than unsigned ones.

When collecting vintage jewelry, the term vintage is generally accepted as a piece that is over 20 years old, antique is over 50 years old and estate is a previously owned item that is less than 20 years old.  However, all of these terms are used interchangeably by many.

Here are the top costume, or fashion, jewelry manufacturers.  Not all of them manufactured vintage jewelry and some are still making jewelry today.  I will eventually be adding a page for each manufacturer.
