Depression Glass Identification - Florentine

by Gary
(Longmont Colorado)

Question:

Green depression glass. All I can say if the picture isn't any help I'm sunk. I have a lot of this pattern.

Answer:

Hi Gary -
From the picture, it looks like Florentine, made by Hazel Atlas from 1932 to 1935.
There was a Florentine #1 & a number #2 - the difference is determined by the shape. I can't tell from your photo the shape of yours - In Florentine No. 1 the plates and bowls are squared with ruffled or serrated corners. The feet on cups, sugars, creamers, sherbets, footed tumblers are also all ruffled.
In Florentine No. 2 all edges are smooth and rounded.
