Glass Identiication Question: Amber Scalloped Dishes Bought with S&H Stamps

by Lisa
(Ohio)

My daughter got my mom's dish set, and yes I am a bit jealous, because she is getting married soon. The dish set was available in amber and white thru s&h stamps. Last I checked they were worth a few thousand for the complete set. I believe it is a complete set. Although I found the toothpick holder at my ex husband's place and he said I could have it. So I sent it to my mom because it was part of the set. The set is probably close to 40 yrs give or take. I need more information as far as exactly what pieces are incl. and what is the going price now. No she is not going to sell the set, and I don't blame her. But I want to see the set completed if it isn't already.

Hi Lisa -
I am not familiar with this lovely pattern. I looked through my 1940s50s60s resources and cannot find anything. Perhaps someone who is familiar with it will be able to identify it. If you do find out what it is, please come back and tell us!
Suzanne

According to Replacements, LTd., this set is:
American Concord-Clear by Brockway Glass Co.
At least now I have something to go by.

hard to tell with the glare...

I believe you have a set of American Concord made by Brockway. It was given away in boxes of Duz soap in the late 70's.

I've only seen it in amber and I have one water tumbler (in amber) that seems to have the same markings.

I bought this set in the 70's in Amber. Dinner and salad plate, soup bowl, coffee cup w/plate. I think I bought the set at department store. Have service for eight. Love them.

I BOUGHT MY SET IN PENN. EITHER IN 1977 OR 1976. I HAVE TEN DINNER PLATES, 14 CUPS AND SAUCERS, 3 LARGE SERVING BOWLS, AND EGG PLATE AND RELISH PLATE(LARGE LIKE THE DINNER PLATE, AND 10 DESSERT PLATES AND 9 SOUP BOWLS. I SAW A PICTURE OF THEM ON LINE ONCE AND THERE WAS A 3 TIERED DISH WITH THE SET. i HAVE THE CLEAR SET, I HAVE LOOKED IN ANTIQUE STORES FOR YEARS FOR ANY PIECES AND ONLY EVER SAW AN AMBER PLATE. i DID HAVE A WHOLE SET OF THE AMBER GOBLETS WAY BACK THEN BUT WHEN I SAW THE CLEAR DISHES I PREFERRED THEM. SO I GAVE AWAY THE AMBER GOBLESTS AND NEVER REPLACED THEM WITH THE CLEAR ONES. i BOUGHT MY SET AT THE RIVERSIDE SUPERMARKET IN jOHNSTWON PA. I THINK THEY ALL COST ME LESS THAN $30.
